Claire Howard, partner at Madsen, Prestley and Parenteau, LLC is an employment attorney who handles a wide span of employment disputes, ranging from negotiating terms of employment, litigating whistleblower claims, Title VII discrimination claims, wage and hour overtime claims, retaliation, contractual disputes, and negotiating exit/severance agreements.
She frequently represents individuals in the phases of litigation from the commencement of the case through all stages of trial and appeal. Claire regularly appears in state and federal courts as well as in administrative agencies such as the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, Department of Labor, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Claire has been selected by Best Lawyers as “One to Watch” in 2022, 2023, and 2024. She was also the recipient of the “Graduates of the Last Decade Impact Award” from the University of Connecticut Law School Alumni Association in October 2022. Claire is active in the Connecticut Bar Association as a member of the House of Delegates and the Professionalism Committee. She is also a Connecticut Bar Foundation and American Bar Foundation fellow. In addition, Claire is a member of the National Women’s Law Center’s Legal Network for Gender Equity and the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association.
